I WILL: Disinfest and wash all props between clients

I WILL: Reschedule if I, or my household show any symptoms

I WILL: Happily accommodate your session to outdoors if you are more comfortable.

I ask that you,

PLEASE: Wear a mask

PLEASE: Only come if you are being photographed.

PLEASE: Do not bring props from home

PLEASE: Do not come if you’ve been symptomatic within 2 weeks.

Thank you so much for your patience and trust in my services to you. I can’t wait to see you!

Theodore – A Birth Story | Rochester Newborn Photographer

Let me introduce you to one of the STRONGEST women I have ever witness give birth – Sara; mom of three. It was an early afternoon when my phone went off, excited I ran to it, hoping that it would be Sara. I was thrilled to be a teeny tiny part of her birth story. This was her third birth, and a “surprise gender” baby. She and her husband already have two sweet little girls. As I walked in the room, it was so calm and relaxed. Light music was playing and her essential oils diffuser going. She smiled, said hello and went on to her breathing. Her husband, Craig, so very attentive and making sure she was comfortable in every way he could. Within a very short hour of arriving, it was go-time. Excited to see if they would welcome another girl or gain a little boy, I was stationed behind Sara’s doctor ready to capture the excitement. And exciting it was, a LITTLE BOY joined their family!

The look on their faces of pure love and joy still makes my eyes blurry when I look at the photos. Sweet Theodore arrived quickly into this world and quickly captured the hearts of his family! If you can get a “birthing-high” from being in the room, I certainly was on one. It is truly such a miracle and to be able to photograph it, is such a privilege. Congratulations Craig and Sara! Teddy is the perfect addition to you family. xoxo

Beyond The Bump 2016 | Rochester Newborn Photographer

Beyond The Bump was today and I had such an amazing time meeting all of the new and expectant parents. Every year I look forward to BTB, as it is easily my favorite event to participate in. I’ve participated in BTB all four years, but the best part is that I have also been able to experience BTB as an expectant mother and now a mom (to the cutest 8 month old little guy – you may have seen him hanging out with me today!).  The amount of information you can gather in just one place in a few short hours is truly amazing. From photographers, to pediatricians, to birthing professions and book clubs – you can really find it all. As always it was also nice to see familiar faces come back with their little ones, who were on the inside last year!

If you are looking for your Baby&Bump photo you can find it by clicking the clients tab above, and clicking on Beyond The Bump 2016. It will bring you to a new page with all the images. Feel free to download, use it on your Facebook, save it to your phone or print it out!

I truly hope you enjoyed Beyond The Bump as much as I did and I hope to see you in the studio with your little one!

Sebastian – 10 Days New | ROCHESTER NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER

As much as I love color, I also really love a good day full of neutrals and that is just what Sebastian’s mom requested. All neutral colors – and let me just say, I enjoyed  every minute of it. I love the way the only focus is completely on babe without any colors. But, I’m not getting ahead of myself, there will always be fun colors in my world. 😉

A head full of hair! If you’ve been following a long for a little now, you know I love everything about my little babes but I love baby hair, its so cute and even more so when its a little un-ruley!

This little guy loved being on his tummy all curled up. It is true, that most of the poses for newborn photography are very womb like and the babes are very comfortable in them!

This little guy slept like a pro, right until it was time to hang out with mom and dad. Then it was party time! I still think the family portrait is very important for new families, baby sleeping or awake and Sebastian rocked his session! I look forward to seeing him  and his parents again!

Recording the “inside a session” video

A few months back, I was wondering how I could show newborn parents what a session was like, and introduce them to me and my studio before ever stepping foot into my studio. I always post the portraits after the session is over to share sneak peeks with the families – but that didn’t feel like enough. There needed to be something more, I have my “about me” section and a gallery on the website, still I needed more. Then it hit me. I needed a video! A film of who I am, in real time and what the session looks like while you sit in the front room (out of the heat) relaxing with some treats, coffee and wi-fi.

I reached out to my friends in Facebook land for a videographer and was quickly reminded I had an amazing friend who does video work! I sent him my ideas and what we came up with is this amazing video below. A huge thank you to Jon Lewis for filming the video and writing my very own Kelly Elizabeth Studio acoustic song. Also a big, big, big thank you to the family for allowing us to film their precious baby boy.

Here are a few cell phone snaps from behind the scenes while we recorded both parts of the video.

Here I am with Jake, he is flashing some little smiles as I soothe him and get him ready to start!

Next, we are photographing baby in the “froggy” pose. My assistant is helping me so that baby is always supported – safety first, last and always!

What I look like when I’m not photographing newborns in 80 degree heat! 😉

Take a look at the video, I’m speechless over it. It is exactly what I wanted to show and more.
