One more, makes a family of four!

It was about 9 years ago that I met Meg. We worked together at a retail clothing store in our high school to early college years! We reconnected last year while planning our weddings, her wedding being just a week before mine! Quickly after she announced her and her husband were expecting I got a message to start planning her maternity and newborn sessions. We picked the lake out in Webster, which is more or less her backyard. The setting was gorgeous and mother nature finally decided to play nice and gave us a nice dry day!

This is the second time I have photographed Meg, the first time was for a special black book of photos for Anthony on their wedding day. The camera loves Meg – she is seriously stunning, not to mention she is glowing!

Ace is on his way, just 3 short days away and this family of four will be complete! I am so excited to meet him in a few weeks. If he is anything like big sister Morgan, he is going to be absolutely adorable and my new best friend!

Morgan was so incredibly excited to “star” in this photo! As soon as I asked if she wanted to hold her baby brothers photo, her eyes lit right up and she was ready to go! She even posed her little legs on her own – pure cuteness overload!

As we were walking the park, Morgan found a set of stairs that I promised her we would climb together. We counted them the entire way up too, for being only five years old – Morgan is one smart cookie! At the top of the stairs I spotted these flowers (I know, some of you are screaming “Weeds, Kelly, they are weeds.” but trust me, Morgan and I agreed they are flowers! 😉 ) I asked her if she wanted to take another special photo for her brother in which she quickly replied yes! She’s proudly displaying baby brothers name “Ace”.

At the very end of our session the sunlight was hitting this spot perfectly and Meg willingly agreed to take some artistic bare-belly shots and I am so so glad we did. She is one gorgeous Momma! The sun may have been glowing bright but her smile and excitement for their new baby boy shines right through it all. I can not wait to meet Ace! Stay tuned for his newborn portraits!

Katie and Edwin | ROCHESTER ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHER

As soon as I was contacted by Katie, I knew that her and Edwin were full of love for one another. When we talked about what visions she had for engagement photos she said “I want it to smell earthy and beautiful”. Done Deal! We headed to a park and a private residence where we had earthy and beautiful unconditional love between these two!

Bringing Charlie, their 6 month old puppy was also part of the plan. Charlie did SO well! Seriously, Katie was nervous – but I got some great shots with Charlie. It might have had to something to do with my not so realistic barking noises. 😉

See the love radiating yet? Such sweet beautiful love between these two!

Charlie was back at, posing like a pro. He really was fantastic, thanks to Danielle (Katie and Edwin’s friend) for entertaining him while he wasn’t being photographed.

After the park we moved onto a private residence, it was gorgeous and the first time I photographed here. I randomly stumbled across this property and was gutsy enough to go ring the doorbell and ask for permission to photograph there occasionally. It turned out to be a gorgeous 2 Acre property!

The sun and property was nothing short of perfect for Katie and Edwin and they rocked their entire session.

We had tons of laughs in-between shots, their personalities truly shine through.

I am so excited to be a part of Katie and Edwin’s wedding in Summer 2015. If it is anything like the love between them it is going to be an absolutely stunning wedding and I can’t wait!

Elyse is going to be a big sister! | Rochester Children’s Photographer

I have been photographing Elyse since she turned one, now at three and a half (don’t forget the half it’s very important) she is about to become a big sister and I think I might be just as excited as her to see her family grow!

Elyse also happens to be part of my family – thanks to my husbands cousins for making a super cute kid! (She also made the cutest flower girl ever, but that’s a whole different blog post of cuteness!)

Mom is always a little bit surprised at how many cute photos she ends up with – Elyse spends at least 85% of the session chatting my ear off! I don’t mind though, I think three year-old voices are adorable!

Not only is she a chatter box full of stories, she was also full of challenges, mainly running up the hills in the park. She won every time, she has really quick little legs! 😉

Because Elyse is about to be a big sister, we had to include mom and dad in on her session! Mom is GLOWING and you can see the excitement in Elyse’s face when you ask her about her sister!

Just a few short weeks until Elyse’s baby sister joins us! Until then enjoy this last photo of the four of them!

Little Baby A | Rochester Newborn Photographer

Oh goodness! I have left you guys here without a post for a few weeks! My apologies, I promise being a better blogger is on my list! But, anyways lets take a look at sweet baby A. I seriously could have kissed and cuddled him all morning. Mom said it was ok, but I didn’t want to test my luck 😉

Mom showed up with an extra sleepy baby, my favorite!

Baby A peeked his eyes at me just once for a spilt second with the cutest little expression. Seriously, it was only for a second – I grabbed two quick shots!

He was back to sleep before I knew it, sweet and squishy!

Jaci Forshtay Mentoring | Rochester Newborn Photographer

Last weekend I had the absolute pleasure of traveling to Warsaw, Indiana to mentoring with the ever so talented Jaci Forshtay – it was a two day workshop full of posing, lighting, angles, styling and sweet, sweet newborns. Of course, I have a billion portraits I could share but, I did my best to narrow it down. Here is Jaci and I posing a sweet little girl, I had a ton of hands on opportunities learning the best and most efficient way to pose baby!

This little guy snuck in a smile, this is how I feel about attending the mentoring workshop – all smiles. It was a fantastic opportunity.
